Orchard House, My Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home

Hi SK friends!

Wow, two days in a row!!!! How long can this last? Who knows, let’s just go with it.

Scrabble and I had to share pictures of the Orchard House all done up in gingerbread. Jennifer E. made the house and a bunch of us decorated it for an annual display at Concord’s Colonial Inn. Pub’s contribution was transferring the glue gun from OH to the Inn and back so Jessie (who made my sisters and me from marzipan) could touch up the Marshmallow snow.

Pub has this to say about touching the glue as it oozes out of the gun. “OOOOOUUUUUCCCCCHHHHH.” We try and keep her away from hot and sharp objects.

If you’re in the area between now and mid January (or when the Colonial Inn mice get the best of the houses) stop in and check out the display. Lots of fun. Here’s a few pics from set up.

Pastry Madame Extraordinaire Jesse touches up the Orchard House’s chimney.

So stately. I bet the floors don’t slope.

This house has good bones.

Concord’s Colonial Inn in pastry form.

Those are almonds set in grey-toned icing making up that chimney.

Give a project like this to a bunch of artists and here’s what you get.

Revolutionary Concord went with a Patriotic theme.

Unlike the Orchard House’s roof, this one does not leak.

This house is filled with holiday spirit.

Scrabble and his friends wolfed down the chimney with care.

Those are great! I love the dog bone one. Maybe next time around there should be one made out of cat treats.

What fun (and yes, a lot of work, too).
I look forward to visiting Orchard House someday!

These are all gorgeous! I really admire the handiwork and time that went into creating these gingerbread houses. (I tried once but it ended up looking more like a gingerbread shack than a house!) My favorite here has to go to the Puppy Palace because I love dogs, but they’re all so neat to look at.

thanks for stopping by. As the post declares, Pub was barred from the creative process and was used solely to transport nonbreakables to and from the site. We hope you had a great Christmas and stop by again!!! xo LMA
