Hello SK fans,
It’s us, Louisa May Alcatt, and my mouse friend Scrabble, back after way too long. Has it really been 7 months since we were last here, saving the world?
Where have we been? Here, there and everywhere. Actually, I’ve just been roaming around MAD’s apartment, looking out the windows. Scrabble spent a lot of time under the couch and behind the heaters. We never get out.
Pub. Now Pub, the human we both rely upon to execute the blogging thing, has not made us a priority. Hmmmmm. But last night she fired up WordPress and today she’s launching our comeback.
Our return is such a big deal, our hometown of Concord, Massachusetts held a parade. That’s what we do around here. someone returns to blogging, we call in a tuba player.
A local business, say The Cheese Shop, gets new inventory – a 400-pound wheel of Crucolo for example – we trot out the Clydesdales.
Everything is celebrated! And the Red Coats, apparently are always available to lead the procession.
A parade on a random Thursday afternoon, you ask. Why not?
Parades are a lot of fun, and as one friend said, “It’s just what the doctor ordered.” (Especially on the heels of some dismal world events.)
In fact, Pub, Scrabble and I think the world should hold more parades. We should all celebrate more. A good report card. Hold a parade. An excellent health diagnosis, hold a parade. A sale on extra crunch peanut butter. Definitely hold a parade.
It takes no time to line the streets with cheering crowds or to fill the chilly air with music, fanfare and confetti. In fact, we think there should be more random parades around the world to get us together and celebrate the things that really matter, such as cheese (Scrabble’s favorite) and blogging.)
Look at the video. Do you see any miserable spectators? We think not. Because we think most of you missed our festivities, I snapped some photos.
Glad to be back, xo LMA
