Zen on ice

20 Feb

Hello SK friends, Louisa May Alcatt and Scrabble here reporting straight from the Orchard House, which looks like this today:

Yes, you have to wonder how we did it back in 1858, and actually back in 1690, when this structure was first built and NetFlix was not even a spark in anyone’s brain. Wonder no more how we found time to philosophize.

Let’s take a look inside, shall we? Here is a view of the gift shop, which is still open for business, BTW:

According to the laws of Feng Shui, the element of water indoors restores vital energy. ( it also cuts into profits, but that’s another post)

My Pub is so inspired by the water energy Feng Shui thing, that she decided to bring it into her own home. Can’t you just feel the peace?

Now that TRULY looks cold! It’s 16 here today which seems like a heat wave compared to looking at all that snow and the icicles on Orchard House!

Too funny! Yes, a career change to clearing away snow and ice seems like just the ticket today. I imagine business would slow down in July however. Beautiful beautiful place, even beneath all that snow.

Those are some serious ice sickles!

Wow – those are some monster ice things! My best friend and I visited the LMA house back in the summer, on one of those very hot days. It seems like a dream now, with our deep freeze and deep snow we’re currently experiencing.
