Honoring all you 3 3 8 8s Today!

8 Mar

Hello and happy International Women’s Day!

My pub and I have been busy sending Ecards and have received some great responses back. Here is a favorite from Nanook’s mom, who lives downstairs from MAD. She was born and raised in Taiwan. (That’s Nanook hamming it for the camera.) Yes, he is cute but I am cuter.

My pub and I were so thrilled with such a response a simple Ecard could generate. We’d love you to share your responses with us.

It is so wonderful to know that you also celebrate the International Women’s Day. You are the first American that I know who celebrate or even know about this holiday. In Taiwan, we always celebrate the ‘3-8 Women’s Day’ (as we call it). It’s interesting, too, that in Taiwan, we describe women who are light-hearted as ‘3 3 8 8’. Usually on this day, men would buy flowers for women in their families and work places, as a way to show their respect. I think that would be a very nice thing to start here in the States, don’t you think?

Happy 3-8 Women’s Day to you, too!

… And to you, dear SK fans,

xo, LMA

I’m so glad to know about 3-8 Women’s Day!
I was in the middle of a conference and didn’t get to send the cards that I’d hoped to send but I shared a few messages / photos on my FB page.
    Next year I’ll do better!
